This Thursday in the Group Class:

The Vocal Folds, What They Can Do, How They Work & When & Why it Matters

The Vocal Folds (also commonly called the "vocal chords") can move super fast! To sing an "A" above Middle C for example, your vocal folds close and open 440 times PER SECOND!!! Because your vocal folds can move faster than you can think or consciously move (try to fit 440 claps in a single second...) learning to use them is one part conscious, one part unconscious.

When Would You Want to Work with the Vocal Folds?

Getting to know what your vocal folds can do is super helpful when it comes to better sensing/understanding how to manage your air (since everything is interconnected), learning to sing purposely breathy or singing without breathiness, singing loudly, singing runs, vibrato & for improving pitch (the length of the chords and speed of vibration dictates the pitch). Lastly, it's also helpful for developing sensory awareness of what you are doing in your throat . So check out the class! It's start at 7:30pm this Thursday 🙂   and don't worry, you don't have to sing 😉 we'll be applying the various exercises to spoken sounds, right where it's comfortable for you.
