One Way to Get Unstuck in Your Singing: Focus on Movement, Not Sound

Do you ever get frustrated in your singing practice? Where you feel like you're just stuck doing the same exercise over and over again with nothing different happening? Here is one way to get unstuck:

Focus on How You Are Moving, Not Sounding

Sound is always a result of how you move. If you want to get better at singing something, you have to move better! If you find yourself compulsively trying the same note, exercise, etc. over and over again and feel like you've hit a wall, a big possible reason (particularly if you notice that you are doing the exercises faster and faster and have a rushed, anxious, feeling) is that you aren't paying attention to what happens BEFORE you initiated the sound. In this video, I describe one concrete application of this idea. In future courses, I'll show you several tools you can use that will help you in your practice regardless of what vocal method you are working with. A word of warning: once these tools are available, you'll be in a much better position to choose what methods work for you!
