For this series, we’ll be looking at hearing chest voice and head voice throughout songs from each era, and then throughout different genres. For this example song, we’ll take “Get Happy” sung by Judy Garland and listen for the differences as she moves between chest voice and head voice.

Below I will put the words that Judy Garland sung quite clearly in chest voice in bold font, and head voice underlined. I will only point out when she is singing most noticeably in chest voice and head voice so it is the easiest to hear.
